My name is Sabrina Clark and I founded Balanced Obedience in 2008. 
I chose this name to help my clients navigate the spectrum of dog training for the best results. 

As an analogy, force-free or positive reinforcement trainers are like vegans. Alternatively, e-collar (shock-collar) trainers are like paleo cross-fitters. These two ends of the spectrum do not mingle well.

I honor all training methods, but do not use treats or e-collars.  I will teach my clients how to use these tools in the dog trainer's toolbox if they wish.

Balanced Obedience offers easy to understand online courses.

There is a special bundle of all of my online courses with a year of online training support for $999.

We have online and in-person courses for puppies, dogs and Service Dogs.
Online trainer support and personalized coaching is included for 1 year with all premium online bundles.

We offer in-person training on Oahu. Our current special includes 50% off of the in-person Doggie Boot Camp, online Puppy Makeover, online Doggie Boot Camp and Owner-Trained Service Dog programs. Simply email me back for the discount code.

Currently, there is open enrollment in our popular small group training sessions. For only $600, you will receive 6 in-person training sessions, enrollment in the online Doggie Boot Camp, a private Facebook community and weekly online live sessions to answer any questions. Enrollment in this course also includes 50% off of the other training programs at Balanced Obedience. Enrollment in this course covers all the training and testing necessary to join the Therapy Dog Program at the World Dog Foundation. Classes will be held Woof Top Dog, a downtown air conditioned location.Our in-person services include consultations, private training, doggie boot camp and boarding-training. Online and in-person trainer support for 1 year is included with the Doggie Boot Camp, On-Leash Mastery Courses and Service Dog Course.  The tuition from any online course is applied in full towards enrollment in any in-person training program.

Behavioral consultations provide solutions of unwanted behavior programs. The $300 consultation fee applies in full towards other in-person training services offered by Balanced Obedience. This is a great first step if you want to meet face to face and get to know me.  Behavioral Consultations are offered at my office in Waimanalo or via Zoom.  Your behavioral consultation is free of charge with enrollment in any of the online training courses (Puppy Makeover, Doggie Boot Camp, Owner-Trained Service Dog Program and Complete Training Bundle).  The online enrollment is applied in full towards any of the in-person training options at Balanced Obedience.

The Doggie Boot Camp would be the very best way to get your dog trained. The camp is two to three weeks of customized training, socialization, and manners for your dog. 

Your dog will have a very solid foundation of obedience training.  

Dogs learn basic leash obedience of heeling, sit, down, stay and come. 

Off-leash training includes introduction to: come, wait, off, quiet, kennel, out, place and potty training.  Good manners and proper socialization with many other trained dogs is a priority. 

The tuition is $3900 for the two-week camp and $4400 for the three-week camp. 

After camp, dogs are eligible to return for boarding-training at a reduced rate of $80/night or more. 

I will train you and your family upon the dog's return.   You will receive training guides and enrollment in the Online Doggie Boot Camp. 

Free testing for the American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test is included. This is ideal for For Emotional Support Dog candidates. The fee for Advanced CGC and Urban CGC or testing is a donation the World Dog Foundation.

We named our Private Training the On-Leash Mastery Course.
This course is where your dog learns advanced obedience and I train you to be the trainer to take your dog through advanced obedience at your own pace, without treat-training or a shock-collar. 

Aside from obedience training we will modify all of your dog's unwanted behaviors through leadership and dog psychology. 

Down-stay is the most important command to teach your dog. Without this command, you will not gain respect. 

You will work your dog through long-duration, long-distance and high-distraction down-stays. These down-stays are the key to teaching your dog to focus. 

Especially while there are distractions and/or you are commanding from a distance away from your dog. 

Initial sessions will be at my office location in Waimanalo. 

Once your dog is ready, we can train in public places in Kailua or Hawaii Kai and I will bring my trained dogs to help with modeling good behavior and distraction training.

The tuition is $5900.

The On-Leash Mastery Course is customized for each dog and is as many lessons as needed at an interval of a week or more, over a time period of 1 to 6 months.

The Hybrid On-Leash Mastery Course has the majority of content shared via email, text and video with up to five lessons in person, in Waimanalo. 

The Hybrid On-Leash Mastery Course tuition is 1/3 of of that of the On-Leash Mastery Course ($1,965).  This includes enrollment in the Online Doggie Boot Camp and a one year subscription to the Balanced Obedience Online Community.

The Off-leash Mastery Course continues advanced training to get the results you want. The tuition is $400 and the On-leash Mastery Course or Doggie Boot Camp is a prerequisite.

The Online Owner-Trained Service Dog Program is for owners who want to train their own dog to become a Service Dog.   Please review HERE for information about our special offer of online and up to 10 in-person sessions and Public Access testing for Service Dog training for $900.

The Online Owner-Trained Service Dog Program can finished in 1 week to 6 months, depending on the amount of training your dog has had.
The Online Owner-Trained Service Dog Program recommends the Online Doggie Boot Camp, Doggie Boot Camp or On-Leash Mastery Course as a prerequisite. 

The tuition is $700 and payment plans are available. For those on Oahu, in-person Public Access Tests in Kailua are available at no charge a few times a month. Most clients on Oahu choose to enroll in the Doggie Boot Camp first which includes unlimited 1 year trainer support.

Balanced Obedience does not offer skills training for dogs needed for sight or hearing.

Psychiatric Service Dog Tasks are our area of expertise. 

We began by helping those returning from the Middle East in 2008 with PTSD and other conditions.  

Tasks for mobility, seizure alert, allergens or diabetes can be taught by the owner if desired. 

Not all dogs can learn to perform the desired Service Dog task with reliability. 

There is no guarantee that your dog will learn to perform the tasks needed to assist with a disability by enrolling in Service Dog training.

The Online Doggie Bootcamp Course helps prepare you and your dog for the Online Owner-Trained Service Dog Program.

This course covers over 20 topics with lifetime access and the AKC CGC testing for free.

The Honolulu Service Dog training course combines the online training and the small group, for $900,  or private training sessions, for $2900, for you to train your own Service Dog with my expert guidance.  
The paid tuition of the Online Doggie Bootcamp Course is credited in full towards the On-Leash Mastery Course or In-Person Doggie Boot Camp.

After passing the Public Access Test, you will receive a certificate and letter of completion of Service Dog training. Special discounts for a Service Dog Vest and identification cards are included in enrollment.  Service Dog training is tax deductible as a medical expense and is payable out of a Health Saving Account (HSA).

The Service Dog Training Program will prepare your dog to be your Service Dog. This program focuses on attentiveness, proofing obedience with distractions in public and task training that your disability requires. 

The Service Dog Training Program is where the dog lives with me 3 months to become a Service Dog. 

The tuition is $9500 and there is lifetime trainer support for you and your dog. 

There is no prerequisite for the Service Dog Training Program and the tuition is all-inclusive.
The 3 month training period can be divided into 1 month increments for dogs under 6 months of age.  This allows for training through a young dog's mental development.

Dogs and puppies are available now or you can join the adoption list if you desire a dog in the future.

Balanced Obedience has a few Service Dog candidates.

Several dogs that make good pets, Service Dogs, Emotional Support Dogs or Therapy Dogs are available for adoption or guardian homes. Choose between a Standard Poodle, Goldendoodles, Bernedoodles and more. Standard F1 Goldendoodle puppies are available now for adoption or continued training with volunteer Service Dog trainers. Mini Bernedoodles are expected in 2025.

Each dog includes a large bag of food, training supplies and vet record of vaccinations and spay or neuter.

Each puppy will include DNA testing, a vet health check, vaccinations given by the veterinarian, food, chew bone, and heartworm preventative.

For $500, you can purchase the training bundle which includes the following:

1 year Premium Online Courses and training support ($1200 value), 

optional Owner-Trained Service Dog Program ($700),

50% off discount for both the 2 week puppy boarding-training ($1950 value) after which your puppy can return for boarding-training.

Priority placement given to those who want a Service Dog. Each male or female Service Dog Candidate puppy is FREE with the $9,500 tuition for for the 3 months of Service Dog training spaced out over the course of a year with unlimited coaching along the way.

There is a special 14 month training program for those needing a Service Dog, but unable to raise the puppy. This program is $18,000 and includes all vaccinations and the spay or neuter.
